The Biden administration is working aggressively to keep the billion-dollar abortion industry in the business of killing unborn babies in Texas.
Christian Post reports U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra released a three-point plan Friday to thwart the life-saving Texas heartbeat law and keep the abortion industry afloat.
“HHS is taking actions to support and protect both patients and providers from this dangerous attack on Texans’ health care,” Becerra said in a statement. “And we are telling doctors and others involved in the provision of abortion care, that we have your back.”
His plan includes using at least $10 million – taxpayers’ money – to provide grants to the abortion industry in Texas as well as making additional Title X family planning funds available, according to the report.

HHS also warned that it will enforce the Church Amendment to protect abortion facility employees “from discrimination” and make sure hospitals and other health care facilities are following legal requirements involving medical treatment for pregnant patients, Ms. Magazine reports.
The Texas heartbeat law went into effect Sept. 1, prohibiting abortions once an unborn baby’s heartbeat is detectable, about six weeks of pregnancy. Unique from other states, the Texas law includes a private enforcement mechanism that allows people to file lawsuits against abortionists who violate the law and those who help them.
Texas is the first state to be allowed to enforce a heartbeat law, and pro-life leaders estimate as many as 100 babies are being saved from abortion every day.
The Biden administration and abortion facilities have filed multiple lawsuits to stop it. Although federal judges and the U.S. Supreme Court refused to temporarily block the law, the court battle is not over.
While the law is in effect, the Biden administration is doing everything it can to “bolster access to safe and legal abortions in Texas,” Becerra said. “Every American deserves access to health care no matter where they live — including access to safe and legal abortions.”
Becerra slammed the Texas heartbeat law as “dangerous,” but the law is saving lives. Abortions do not save lives or make women healthier; quite the opposite. The purpose of an abortion is to kill a unique, living human being, the woman’s own child.
In 2020, about 54,000 unborn babies were aborted in Texas, and about 85 percent happened after six weeks of pregnancy, according to state health statistics. That means the new Texas law is saving as many as 100 babies’ lives every single day.
While abortion activists say some women are traveling to other states for abortions, they admit that others are having their babies instead.
Earlier this month, the U.S. Supreme Court refused Planned Parenthood’s and other pro-abortion groups’ request to temporarily block the law. Then, late last week, a federal judge refused to grant the Biden administration’s request to do the same.
U.S. District Judge Robert Pitman, an appointee of pro-abortion President Barack Obama who is assigned to the case, scheduled a hearing for Oct. 1.
Meanwhile, pro-life advocates are reaching out to pregnant women across Texas with compassion and understanding, offering resources and emotional support to help them and their babies. Earlier this year, state lawmakers increased support for pregnant and parenting mothers and babies, ensuring that they have resources to choose life for their babies.
About a dozen states have passed heartbeat laws to protect unborn babies from abortion, but Texas is the first to be allowed to enforce its law. Whether the law will remain in effect or ultimately be upheld as constitutional in court remains uncertain, but pro-life leaders are hopeful now that the Supreme Court has a conservative majority.
