New talking points released by the U.S. Congressional Pro-Choice Caucus this week reveal just how radical the Democrats’ abortion agenda has become.

The messaging indicates Democrat leaders want more unborn babies to be aborted, not fewer, and want to force pro-life doctors and nurses to abort them in violation of their religious freedom.

Breitbart reports the Pro-Choice Caucus sent the messaging recommendations to U.S. House Democrats this week in response to a leaked U.S. Supreme Court draft ruling that overturns Roe v. Wade. U.S. Reps. Diana DeGette, D-Colorado, and Barbara Lee, D-California, are the co-chairs of the caucus.

Among other things, the document tells Democrats to stop saying abortions should be “rare” because it’s “harmful.” They should not talk about “reducing abortion” either, according to the document published by Politico. Instead, the caucus tells lawmakers to promote abortion “accessibility.”

Nearly 1 million unborn babies are aborted every year in the U.S., almost all for purely elective reasons, and more than 63 million unborn babies have been aborted since Roe v. Wade in 1973. But apparently, reducing abortions and saving unborn babies is “harmful” now.

The Democrat leaders’ new talking points also try to re-frame religious freedom protections as oppression. The message tells lawmakers to describe conscience protection laws, which protect doctors and nurses from being forced to abort unborn babies, as “refusal of care/denial of care laws.”

In other words, Democrat lawmakers are being instructed to vilify medical workers who are dedicated to protecting the lives of all their patients, born and unborn, and to advocate for these workers to lose their jobs if they refuse to kill unborn babies.

These are the worst of the recommended talking points, but there are others.

The Pro-Choice Caucus tells lawmakers to reject the term “choice” in favor of “decision” – prompting questions about whether the caucus will change its name – and to avoid talk about “back-alley abortions” and “coat hangers” – as part of the effort to promote dangerous mail-order abortions that do not include any direct medical supervision. Oddly, the message also tells lawmakers to say “unexpected pregnancy,” rather than “unwanted pregnancy.”

Even some leftist journalists expressed skepticism about the new talking points. Will Saletan, a former Slate writer who now works for Bulwark Online, predicted that Democrats will only further alienate voters.

“The guidance about ‘rare’ and ‘conscience’ is bad,” Saletan wrote. “Refusing to acknowledge that abortion should be rare — or that people who refuse to participate in abortions are motivated by conscience — is a good way to alienate voters who would otherwise support access to legal abortion.”

The radical pro-abortion agenda of the Democratic Party is extreme and out of touch with most Americans. Party leaders support abortions, paid for the taxpayer, without limits up to birth and want to get rid of bans on sex-selection abortions, late-term abortions, parental consent for minors and informed consent laws.

Polls consistently show that most Americans support strong legal protections for unborn babies. LifeNews highlighted 11 recent polls here. A 2022 Marist poll found that just 36 percent of Americans believe abortions should be legal without any restrictions. Additionally, 73 percent oppose using tax dollars to fund abortions. Similarly, a 2021 Associated Press poll found that 65 percent believe second-trimester abortions should be illegal and 80 percent believe they should be illegal in the third trimester.

This month, a new Rasmussen poll found more Americans want Roe v. Wade overturned (48 percent) than want the ruling to remain in place (45 percent).
