Actress Jane Fonda suggested she would like to “murder” pro-life lawmakers Friday on The View as a spate of firebombings, vandalism, assaults and other violence against pro-lifers continues all across the country.

Fonda has been vocally pro-abortion for years. On The View, however, even the other pro-abortion hosts appeared alarmed when Fonda twice suggested she would like to “murder” pro-life lawmakers.

“We have experienced many decades now of having agency over our body, of being able to determine when and how many children to have,” the 85-year-old actress said as the panel discussed the overturning of Roe v. Wade, according to Fox News.

Fonda continued: “We’re not going back, I don’t care what the laws are. We’re not going back.”

When co-host Joy Behar asked Fonda what abortion supporters can do other than march and protest, Fonda replied, “Murder.”

Actress Lily Tomlin, another guest on the panel, asked Fonda to repeat herself, and she reiterated the remark, again saying, “Murder.”

Murder to protect the murder of children.

Pray & work passionately against this darkness.

Here’s more from Fox News:

“She’s just kidding,” Behar said hastily, before motioning. “Wait a second… They’ll pick up on that and just run with it. She’s just kidding.”

Fonda then gave Behar a long stare that created even more laughter, making it unclear whether Fonda was still joking.

But lawmakers did not take it as a joke. U.S. Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, R-FLorida, said she notified Capitol Police after hearing Fonda’s comments, noting that the actress “did not retract or clarify that she was ‘joking’” so “we are taking this threat as a serious one.”

The comment disturbed pro-life leaders, too. Lila Rose, the president and founder of Live Action, slammed Fonda for wanting to protest a ban on murder with murder.

“Actress and abortion activist Jane Fonda calls for pro-life politicians to be murdered,” Rose wrote on Twitter. “Murder to protect the murder of children. Pray and work passionately against this darkness.”

SBA Pro-Life America also found Fonda’s comments alarming but not surprising, responding: “It shouldn’t be surprising that a fervent advocate for abortion suggests murder as the ‘solution’ for anyone who disagrees with her. It’s just a continuation of the pro-abortion thought process. Where does the advocacy for death end?”

Fonda made the comment as pro-life advocates suffer a wave of violence and threats all across the U.S. These include a near-assassination attempt on U.S. Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaughthe shooting of a pro-life Michigan volunteer, and numerous firebombings, arson, vandalism, threats and assaults in the past year.

Another pro-life pregnancy center was vandalized just last weekend in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the windows smashed and the threat, “If abortions aren’t safe, neither r u,” spraypainted on a wall.

Increasingly, pro-life organizations and advocates have become targets of vandalism and violence. LifeNews counted approximately 250 attacks in 2022.

In November, FBI Director Christopher Wray admitted that most of the abortion-related attacks in the past year have targeted pro-life organizations. “Since the Dobbs decision, probably in the neighborhood of 70 percent of our abortion-related violence cases or threats cases are cases of violence or threats against … pro-life organizations,” he told a U.S. Senate committee.

Yet, there have been very few arrests. In January, the FBI offered reward money for information leading to arrests in many of the attacks.

Many pro-life organizations are increasing security and Republican lawmakers are demanding action from the Biden administration to crack down on the growing pro-abortion domestic terrorism. But, while the Biden administration has been aggressively working to expand the killing of unborn babies in abortions, it has done little to stop the hostilities directed at pro-life advocates and churches.
