Pro-abortion Democrat Joe Biden, the presumed winner of the White House, brought up his Catholic faith again Saturday when he declared victory over President Donald Trump.

ABC News reports Biden would be the second Catholic to be elected president of the United States. Though Biden’s campaign and many news outlets have presumed victory, votes are still being certified and the Trump campaign has pointed to evidence of election fraud.

On Saturday, Biden quoted the Bible as well as a popular Catholic hymn in his victory speech, according to ABC News.

“To everything there is a season: a time to build, a time to reap, and a time to sow and a time to heal,” he said, referring to Ecclesiastes 3:1-3. “This is the time to heal in America.”

Later, he referred to the lyrics of the hymn “On Eagle’s Wings” as he called to unite Americans.

“And now together on eagles’ wings, we embark on the work that God and history have called us to do with full hearts and steady hands, with faith in America and in each other, with love of country, a thirst for justice,” Biden said. “Let us be the nation that we know we can be — a nation united, a nation strengthened, a nation healed.”

And though few news outlets have pointed it out, Biden’s agenda does not fit his words or his faith. He believes it is “essential” to kill unborn babies in abortions and he wants to force taxpayers to fund their deaths. His positions on religious freedom and family also contradict his faith claims.

Biden said he wants to codify Roe v. Wade into federal law and appoint Supreme Court justices who will support abortion on demand. He also said he would fight to end the Hyde Amendment and force taxpayers to pay for elective abortions – which could lead to 60,000 more unborn babies’ deaths to abortion each year.

Also concerning to many Catholics, Biden promised to restore an Obama-era mandate that would force the nuns with Little Sisters of the Poor and other religious employers to fund contraception, including types that may cause abortions, in their employee health insurance plans.

In April, Biden went so far as to call the killing of unborn babies an “essential medical service” during the coronavirus pandemic. His health care plan would expand abortions as well. It would force insurance companies to cover abortions as “essential” health care under Obamacare.

He also promised to undo all of Trump’s progress for life, including defunding the Planned Parenthood abortion chain through his Mexico City and Title X policies.

On religious freedom, Biden’s position also is deeply troubling. Biden has endorsed anti-religious freedom policies that would force nuns, religious charities and hospitals to violate their deeply-held beliefs by funding the killing of unborn babies in abortions and potentially even by helping to facilitate their deaths.

Among them, he and his running mate Kamala Harris oppose a religious exemption from the Obamacare contraception mandate for the Little Sisters of the Poor, a nuns’ charity that serves the poor and elderly. The U.S. Supreme Court recently granted the Little Sisters relief from the Obama-era mandate, which would have forced them to fund contraception, including forms that may cause abortions, in their employee health plans.

As a result, many Catholic leaders spoke out against Biden and his claims to faith. In 2019, a South Carolina priest denied communion to Biden because of his pro-abortion stance. More recently, Cardinal Raymond Burke also said Biden should not receive Holy Communion because of his long record of supporting abortion on demand.
