Senate candidate John Fetterman plans to spend the anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks promoting the killing of unborn babies in abortions.
A Pennsylvania Democrat, Fetterman is running for an open U.S. Senate seat against pro-life Republican Dr. Mehmet Oz. U.S. Sen. Pat Toomey, a pro-life Republican who currently holds the seat, is retiring.
Townhall writer Rebecca Downs noted Fetterman’s irreverence this week, writing: “It would appear that the so-called right to an abortion is so sacred, that there’s no day when Democrats won’t stop promoting it. This includes on the 21st anniversary of the terrorist attacks that took place on September 11, 2001.”
The attacks killed thousands of people in New York, Washington, D.C. and Pennsylvania after terrorists hijacked several airplanes and crashed them into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. Counted among the dead were at least 11 unborn babies. A Sept. 11 memorial in New York City specifically mentions these unborn babies as victims along with their mothers.
However, Fetterman does not believe unborn babies are valuable human beings who deserve protections at any stage before birth. He recently admitted he opposes any limits on abortion. He also wants Congress to pass a radical pro-abortion bill nicknamed the Abortion Without Limits Up to Birth Act that would force states to legalize abortion on demand and force taxpayers to pay for them.

At his Women for Fetterman event on Sept. 11 in Montgomery County, he plans to focus specifically on “abortion rights.” His campaign describes the rally as a “HIGHEST PRIORITY Community Event,” according to Townhall.
Other pro-abortion Democrats, including U.S. Reps. Madeleine Dean and Mary Gay Scanlon, state Senate candidate Val Arkoosh and state House Minority Leader Joanna McClinton, also are scheduled to attend, according to the report.
Fetterman’s abortion stance is radical and out of touch with most Americans. Polls consistently show that most Americans oppose taxpayer funding for abortions and late-term abortions.
In contrast, Oz believes human life begins at conception and supports laws that protect unborn babies from abortion.
“Dr. Oz is pro-life and supports exceptions for rape, incest, and life of the mother. It’s quite the contrast from John Fetterman who supports abortion up until the moment of birth,” Brittany Yanick, communications director for Oz’s campaign, told Townhall.
Pennsylvania is a key swing state, and Democrats hope to gain another seat in the U.S. Senate with Fetterman. Polls show the Democrat candidate ahead, but Fetterman recently suffered a stroke and even major news outlets are raising questions about his health and ability to serve.
