Kamala Harris continued her pro-abortion crusade Wednesday on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert by blasting laws that protect unborn babies from abortion as “inhumane.”
Harris, a pro-abortion Democrat, has been trying to improve her faltering image by aligning herself closely with the pro-abortion movement over the past year, inviting pro-abortion leaders to the White House, hosting abortion rallies and speaking about the issue wherever she goes.
But her pro-abortion stance is extreme, out of touch with most Americans and anti-science.
Speaking with Colbert on Wednesday, she implied that unborn babies are not human beings when she claimed pro-life laws are “inhumane” and “irresponsible,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.
“I think it’s the height of irresponsibility,” Harris said of the state pro-life laws that have gone into effect since the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade.
She continued: “In fact, in many cases [it’s] inhumane what has been happening in states around our country that are passing laws that would criminalize health care providers, literally provide for jail time for doctors and nurses who provide reproductive health care, that would punish women for simply seeking the kind of care that they choose, that they need.”
Harris also criticized states that protect unborn babies from abortion even in cases of rape or incest, according to the report.

“After a person has gone through a most vicious violation of their body, then the government will tell them, ‘And after that, you also will not have autonomy and be able to make decisions about your body as it relates to the decision you make next,’” she said.
But Harris was wrong on multiple counts.
Abortion bans do not punish pregnant mothers; they punish abortionists who kill unborn babies in elective abortions in violation of the law. Currently, 14 states are enforcing laws that ban or strictly limit elective abortions, and more are fighting in court to do the same. As a result, researchers estimate tens of thousands of unborn babies already have been saved from abortion.
Aborting unborn babies is not health care either, as tens of thousands of doctors confirm. The purpose of health care is to heal, but abortions kill patients: unique, irreplaceable human children whose lives began at the moment of conception.
Abortions are not “needed” either. A recent review of state health department data by the Charlotte Lozier Institute found nearly all abortions are done for elective reasons. In contrast, only 2.7 percent were due to risks to the mother’s life, a major bodily function or other physical health concerns, and these are allowed under state pro-life laws.
Research by the Guttmacher Institute and others have found that most women who abort their unborn babies do so because of financial struggles or coercion. Killing unborn babies is not a solution to these problems; instead, the research shows that babies and their mothers need better financial and relational support.
And in cases of sexual abuse, abortions do not heal or undue the mother’s trauma. In many cases, rape victims say aborting their unborn babies only made their trauma worse. A survey by the Elliot Institute found 80 percent of rape victims who had abortions later regretted their decision, with some saying the abortion felt like a second “medical rape.”
Harris does not speak for most Americans. Polls consistently show Americans support strong limits on abortion, including parental consent for minors, bans on taxpayer funding for abortions and bans on aborting unborn babies, especially after the first trimester or once their heartbeat is detectable – all of which the Biden administration opposes. LifeNews highlighted 25 recent polls showing support for pro-life laws.
