Kamala Harris plans to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the deadly Roe v. Wade ruling on Sunday as part of her continued efforts to promote the killing of unborn babies in abortions.

The AP reports Harris is scheduled to speak at a 50th anniversary event in Florida, organized by the Biden administration.

Fortunately, the infamous abortion ruling did not survive to its 50th year. In June, the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe in the historic Dobbs v. Jackson case and began allowing states to protect unborn babies from abortion again. Now, 14 states protect life by banning abortions, and more are fighting court battles to do the same. Pro-life leaders estimate these laws already have saved tens of thousands of unborn babies’ lives.

But the Biden administration – and Harris especially – have been working aggressively to thwart pro-life advocates’ life-saving efforts.

In a statement, Harris spokesperson Kirsten Allen said the president and vice president believe “a women’s right to choose is non-negotiable,” according to the report.

On Sunday, “the vice president will make very clear: the fight to secure women’s fundamental right to reproductive health care is far from over,” Allen said. “She will lay out the consequences of extremist attacks on reproductive freedom in states across our country and underscore the need for Congress to codify Roe.”

Last summer, the Supreme Court ruled that abortion is not a constitutional right, and the American people should be allowed to enact laws that protect babies in the womb.

Previously, the Roe ruling forced states to legalize abortions for any reason up to viability and allowed abortions for any reason up to birth. As a result, about 64 million unborn babies were legally aborted in the U.S.

Harris has made advocating for abortions a key issue in her role as vice president. Throughout the past year she has traveled across the country, giving speeches and meeting with abortion activists to discuss ways the Biden administration can expand abortions.

But new polls show growing public opposition to the Biden administration’s radical pro-abortion agenda.

This week, a Marist College poll found 69 percent of Americans support limiting or banning abortions, up from 62 percent in June.

Similarly, another new poll this week from UMass Amherst found declining support for pro-abortion legislation. The national poll found a 5-percent drop in those who say Congress should pass a law to make abortions legal nation-wide and a 6-percent increase in support for a national abortion ban, WCVB News reports.

Pro-life advocates also will mark the anniversary of Roe this month with rallies and other events across the country, the largest being the March for Life on Friday in Washington, D.C. Hundreds of thousands of people are expected to travel to the capital to celebrate the overturning of Roe and mourn for the millions of unborn babies who were killed because of it.
