Kamala Harris plans to welcome a group of abortionists to the White House on Thursday to honor their work killing unborn babies in abortions.
Glamour reports Harris’s guests include Bhavik Kumar, a Planned Parenthood abortionist in Houston, Texas. Glamour portrayed Kumar as a hero for doing 60 abortions in one day on Aug. 31 — a record for him – before the new Texas heartbeat law went into effect on Sept. 1.
“We need bold action to protect access to abortion,” Kumar told Glamour. “There’s no time to wait. People’s lives are literally at stake here.”
It is true, though not in the way Kumar meant it. Almost all abortions are purely elective and life-destroying, not life-saving. The Texas law is stopping abortionists like him from killing unborn babies once their heartbeat is detectable, about six weeks of pregnancy. If it remains in effect, the law has the potential to save tens of thousands of babies from abortion every year and countless mothers and fathers from the pain and regret of abortion.
But Harris and the Biden administration promised to work aggressively to stop the pro-life law and ensure that women get abortions.
“We will not stand by and allow our nation to go back to the days of back-alley abortions,” Harris said in a statement last week. “… We will use every lever of our administration to defend the right to safe and legal abortion—and to strengthen that right.”

The Biden administration just announced plans to sue Texas over the new pro-life law. Additionally, Harris will honor a group of abortionists at a special meeting Thursday at the White House. According to the report, Harris plans to speak with abortionists and patients from Texas, Mississippi, Kentucky and New Mexico about abortion access in their states.
Harris wants to reassure them that the Biden administration will use “every possible tool of government to combat these laws, including federal legislation to codify Roe,” a senior White House official told Glamour.
“We are working hand in glove with the Department of Health and Human Services and the other agencies across this administration to ensure that they’re using any federal lever that they can to help protect these women,” the White House official said.
Abortions do not protect women, though. An abortion is not heath care, and it is not necessary for women to be free or to thrive. An abortion kills a unique, living human being, a child in the womb, and risks the mother’s life and health. The Texas law allows exceptions for medical emergencies when the mother’s life is at risk, but prohibits abortions on unborn babies for all other reasons. It recognizes that a baby in the womb is a valuable human being who deserves rights and protections under the law.
But it is these basic human rights that Harris and the Biden administration are fighting against. They are fighting against the beliefs of most Americans, too.
Several recent polls show Americans support heartbeat laws. A new Rasmussen poll found that Americans support the Texas heartbeat law, with 46 percent in favor to 43 percent against. An April poll by the University of Texas-Austin found that 49 percent of Texans support making abortions illegal after six weeks of pregnancy, while 41 percent oppose it. And a national Hill-HarrisX survey in 2019 found that 55 percent of voters said they do not think laws banning abortions after six weeks – when an unborn baby’s heartbeat is detectable – are too restrictive.
Since Roe v. Wade in 1973, nearly 63 million babies have been killed in abortions in the United States. Most Americans recognize that it is time for this injustice to end and time that states be allowed to protect unborn babies’ right to life once again.
