The Nancy Pelosi era is over.

The radical abortion activist and Speaker of the House gave a farewell address of sorts today in the floor of the House saying she will not run for any party leadership position next year. Her decision comes after Republicans captured control of the House in the midterm elections last week.

“I will not seek re-election to Democratic leadership in the next Congress,” Pelosi told Democrats.

Pelosi will remain in Congress but not seek any leadership role when pro-life Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy becomes the next Speaker.

“With great confidence in our caucus, I will not seek re-election to Democratic leadership in the next Congress,” said Pelosi. “For me the hour has come for a new generation to lead the Democratic caucus that I so deeply respect, and I’m grateful that so many are ready and willing to shoulder this awesome responsibility.”

“There is no greater special honor for me than to stand on this floor and to speak for the people of San Francisco. This I will continue to do as a member of the House speaking for the people of San Francisco, serving the great state of California and defending our Constitution,” she continued.

Pelosi has been the leader of House Democrats since 2003 and has been Speaker for 8 years.

During her time, Pelosi passed bills to legalize abortions on demand, force Americans to fund abortions with their tax dollars and she denied a vote 80 times on a bill that would stop infanticide.

Pelosi’s decision comes after the nation’s Catholic bishops elected a new chairman of their pro-life committee who supported denying Nancy Pelosi communion because she is a radical abortion activist.
