booth A HUGE THANK-YOU TO ALL WHO HELPED MADE THE COUNTY FAIR A SUCCESS!
Here’s one report………………………..Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to volunteer at the Right To Life table yesterday at the Fair. We had the early shift but there were quite a few people who weathered the rain to come in! So many of those thanked us for being there. Families were showing their children what they were like at the beginning of their life and you were correct when you said the little ones loved the stickers. Some people were not so kind & we did listen.What you and the Right To Life are doing is the exact right way to get the word out. God Bless You and thank you for this wonderful opportunity.
From President Gene Tischer……….

One of our members asked why we pray at the abortion mill, during our 40 days, when it is closed. Here is my answer.
Prayer at the abortion mill has two purposes —

  • a. To remind the clients and staff that they are about an evil work and to please reconsider their decision to kill unborn children;
  • b. To recognize that this battle, in its essence, is a spiritual battle and, by prayer at any time, we help the Lord in His battle against this
    evil. It is an act of faith to pray when it is closed because it confirms in our own minds that this is really not a protest against the people who are carrying on this business, but a fight against the devil himself;

Sacred Scripture tell us that prayerful endeavors carried on over a 40-day period have great power to help Good triumph over evil. And, in fact, that has been the experience with other 40-day commitments at abortions mills around the country.

Many of you are aware that Planned Parenthood held their annual gala at the Hyatt, downtown Sarasota, on Thursday, March 7th. Linda McGlade wrote an excellent summary report about our efforts to educate the attendees about the evil organization they were supporting. Her report follows.

This past Thursday night a small but mighty in Jesus group of us came together to face the Planned Parenthood giant of the abortion industry. It was their annual fundraiser at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Sarasota attended by the very elite and sadly deceived. This year’s theme was “Truth and Care”. Once again, Planned Parenthood tries to white wash their tarnishing image by deception. Planned Parenthood deceives the public by proclaiming that they give total care to women; but statistics prove that they provide very little health services – none of it without cost, and their biggest “care” and money maker is the taking of unborn babies lives. It is and always has been their goal.At $2500 to $10,000 a plate, the 700 plus attendees marched past our signs and pleas to seek the real truth and come out from under the darkness of death. Most of their faces were set like flint as they laughed and mocked what we had to offer. One of our dear warriors, probably never experiencing such a spectacle, was stricken to the heart when an elderly woman, dressed to the hilt, who saw her sign of a picture of a 14 week old aborted child, gleefully sneered, “The more I see that, the more money I want to give!” Others, with hearts so full of hatred and rebellion against a Holy God of truth and light, repeated same such threats. “The more you talk, the more I want to give!”How sad – how heartbreaking it is to come face to face with the stark reality of the hardness of heart behind PP and the abortion industry.Thankfully, none of the warriors for life were daunted, we were prayed up and ready to come against the demons of hell while covered in the blood of our Lord – full of His love for the lost and pity for those walking in darkness. It is the truth that sets men free, and truth and light were held up this night.Each one of us had a story to tell – an experience to hold on that makes it all worth it. One such story, is that of an ab-solutely beautiful young black woman, who as she was walking to the entrance of the Hyatt, one of our women started to walk with her and politely asked if she was attending the Planned Parenthood event (some of the people going in, of course, were simply guests in the hotel). She said that she was an attendee, but seemed to have an open ear, so the prolife mother and grandmother, asked if she knew of the origins of Planned Parenthood, and how Margaret Sanger, the founder, had it in her plan to target the black race. The young woman simply replied with a nod, “But, that was a long time ago, things have changed.” “But, not so much”, said our lady, “Planned Parenthood makes it a point to situ-ate their clinics in poor neighborhoods, still targeting the poor and needy.” This seemed to get the attention of this lovely young woman, but she kept on moving toward the building. “Have you ever seen an abortion?” “No” “Well, I would encourage to do so, hon. It’s important that you know what you are supporting”. The beautiful young woman whose heart was a bit soft, continued to walk into the building, but it was clear that she listened. We can only pray that her eyes clearly see the truth, and is set free from the darkness that envelops those who think abortion is just a wom-an’s right, and not the actual killing of a precious child.One important take away from this night, that should be an encouragement to all of us who have been fighting for the lives of babies and against the deception of abortion, is that unlike others years at this event, there was a huge amount of support from those passing by who had nothing to do with the PP event. There were many thumbs up and quite a few cars that stopped as the curious passersby wondered what we were doing. “Great job!” Thank you for being out here!” “It is terrible what they (PP) is doing!” Could this mean that people are finally opening their eyes to the truth of what PP’s so-called health care is all about – that it is nothing less than little girls and boys, made in the image of a Holy God, being torn apart in their mother’s wombs.With the news escalating with stories almost daily, as the Lord seems to be exposing what has been in the hearts of those in the abortion industry all along – that killing a child up to the moment of birth is acceptable – even talk of end-ing the life of a child born if the parents decide it’s OK. Those in darkness, seem to be getting harder, but those open to the light are seeing and acknowledging the truth. We can only hope and pray that God’s people will not cower or bend under the pressure to be silent. We don’t all have to picket at a Planned Parenthood event, but we all need to stand for truth wherever the Lord lead. For this we know that “The gates of hell will not prevail against His Church!” Help us to stand, dear Lord!“We must learn that when people devalue any one Life, they devalue all Life.”

LIFE MATTERS

JANUARY-FEBRUARY 2019

SARASOTA COUNTY FAIR

For over 35 years, we have had a booth at the County Fair. During this 10 day period, we distribute hundreds of bro-chures, stickers, magnets, baby models, and other Pro-Life material. Our video on fetal development is shown continu-ally to all who pass by. The fetal models provide a good vis-ual opportunity to talk to expectant parents and to our teenage visitors. If you have never helped staff our booth, please consider doing so. It is a positive Pro-Life witness to our community.  Email BillCook@comcast.net to volunteer for one hour.  You will not be alone in the booth and you will enjoy witnessing for life.

Annual Prayer Walk a Success

The annual January Prayer Walk was held Saturday, January 22, at Planned Parenthood, 736 Central Avenue.  There was an excellent turnout with the hours from 9 AM to 2 PM well covered by prayer warriors.  This walk is held each year to remember the January, 1973 Roe v Wade Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion in the U.S. Please join us next year if you can.

New Initiative — 40-Days for Life in the Spring this year.

We are going to initiate a spring time 40 Days for Life prayer vigil at Planned Parenthood, 736 Central Avenue. It will start on Wednesday, March 6th and end on Palm Sunday, April 14th. Please consider partici-pating in this vigil any time dur-ing those days between the hours of 7AM to 7PM. Many churches participate and you may want to check with your church’s Pro Life leaders to see if it is putting a group together to cover one of the 40 days.
