Pro-abortion feminists plan to march next week in Los Angeles to demand “equity and equality” for women through the unrestricted, legalized killing of unborn babies in abortions.
The “Bans Off Our Bodies” march is a project of the Women’s March Foundation, according to LA Downtown News. It is scheduled for May 14 in downtown Los Angeles.
Emiliana Guereca, founder and executive director of the foundation, said the event takes place at a critical time as the U.S. Supreme Court considers overturning Roe v. Wade.
“This is a state of emergency for women’s productive rights,” Guereca said in a statement. “In California, we may feel that we’re safe. I think that when we feel safe, it is our duty to fight for the women in these other states, to support them and their fight for reproductive rights. … I want to make sure that we are working towards equity and equality.”
California has very few limits on abortion, and it forces taxpayers to pay for them. Right now, Gov. Gavin Newsom and Democrat lawmakers are working closely with the abortion industry to expand abortions even more. One bill, Assembly Bill 2223, even would allow infanticide of babies up to 28 days old; another proposal would allocate $20 million tax dollars to encourage medical students to become abortionists.

And a new law slated to go into effect next year will force all public colleges and universities to provide abortions on campus.
Guereca said she believes abortion “empowers women.”
“For me, it’s about seeing the steps toward empowering women,” she said. “Women have always been powerful, but we’ve been invisible. The Women’s March Foundation is about bringing visibility, awareness and advocacy to the issues that really speak for women’s equity.”
She said she advocates for abortion because she wants to “leave this world … better for women than when we came into it.”
But aborting an unborn baby does nothing to advance equality. Abortions intentionally and unnecessarily kill unborn babies, and they do not make women healthier or somehow more “equal.” Quite the opposite, pro-life advocates point out that pro-abortion arguments demean women by treating pregnancy as a defect to be corrected rather than an ability to be celebrated and supported.
Now, the Supreme Court has the opportunity to restore equality to unborn babies and their mothers by overturning Roe. Since 1973, the ruling has forced states to legalize abortion on demand up to viability and allowed abortion up to birth. As a result, more than 63 million unborn babies and hundreds, perhaps thousands, of mothers have died in supposedly “safe, legal” abortions.
In December, the Supreme Court heard a major challenge to Roe in the Mississippi case Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health. A ruling is expected in June.
If Roe is overturned, researchers predict more than half of states would ban abortions and hundreds of thousands of unborn babies’ lives would be saved every year.
