No one jokes about the greatest human rights abuses in history. It’s considered more than just bad taste. It’s unacceptable, insane.
So it makes sense that Saturday Night Live comedian Cecily Strong would question the idea of a skit joking about abortions.
“Is this an insane idea or …?” Strong asked her producer before performing the skit over the weekend, according to USA Today.
The answer should have been “yes.” But joking about killing unborn babies in abortions gets praise and attention from the mainstream media and powerful pro-abortion groups nowadays, so Strong performed it.
Dressed in a clown suit, she told her audience that she “wouldn’t be a clown on TV here today” if she had not had an abortion at age 23. In between making balloon animals and squirting a fake flower that sprays water, she made jokes about ending her unborn baby’s life.

“Clowns have been helping each other and their pregnancies since the caves. It’s going to happen, so it oughta be safe, legal and accessible,” Strong’s character, Goober the Clown, said.
Strong said one of her favorite jokes was when her abortionist asked if she got pregnant on her way to the abortion facility.
“I love that joke. It’s such a good joke,” she said. “Not like a funny, ha-ha joke, but like a funny, ‘You’re not an awful person and your life isn’t over now’ joke. A-honka honka!”
Though the audience laughed at what could hardly be called jokes, their laughter felt extremely uncomfortable and out of place. National Review writer Alexandra DeSanctis described it as “a truly bizarre three minutes, not one moment of which was even remotely amusing.”
More likely than not, its aim wasn’t to be funny but rather to promote one of the Left’s favorite messages: Getting an abortion is a normal thing to do — a great thing, actually — and women — er, I mean, clowns — who have had one shouldn’t feel alone.
Predictably, Strong’s performance got rave reviews from major media outlets, which are always on the hunt for ways to celebrate “reproductive rights” and dunk on regressive anti-choicers.
But for most people, the “jokes” were disturbing because they made light of destroying a child’s life.
Since 1973, nearly 63 million unique, irreplaceable unborn babies have been killed in abortions in America. Hundreds, perhaps thousands, of their mothers have died in supposedly “safe, legal” abortions as well, and countless more have suffered a lifetime of post-abortion pain and regret. It’s an immense tragedy, and the fact that it is so common is not something to celebrate or joke about. It only makes the tragedy even more horrific.
