Senator Ted Cruz slammed Attorney General Merrick Garland during a Senate hearing today for failing to prosecute a single abortion activist for illegally protesting outside the homes of Supreme Court justices.
In the days following the Dobbs decision that overturned Roe v. Wade, radical abortion protestors camped outside the homes of the Supreme Court justices who voted to overturn roe and threatened them and their families. Such protests are technically illegal under federal law, but Garland never held anyone accountable.
Garland let the protests continue even as one radical leftist was charged with attempting to assassinate Justice Brett Kavanaugh.
Cruz said that the Department of Justice “in his judgment” has become “politicized to the greatest extent” he’s ever seen.
And the Texas Republican got Garland to admit the protests were illegal.
“You just said yes, it’s a crime to protest at the home of a judge. Same goes for jurors, by the way, with the intent of influencing a case. But in the wake of the leak of the Dobbs decision, when rioters descended on the homes of six Supreme Court justices, night after night after night, you did nothing,” Cruz said to Garland during a Senate Oversight Committee hearing on Wednesday. “The Department [of Justice] did nothing.”
“But did you bring even a single case to enforce this law or did the Department of Justice decide this law doesn’t apply if it’s harassing justices for an opinion we don’t like,” Cruz asked.

Ted Cruz slams Garland for ignoring pro-abortion threats to Supreme Court justices and their families.
“Why are you unwilling to say no? The answer is no! You know it’s no. I know it’s no. Everyone in this hearing room knows it’s no! You’re not willing to answer a question!” pic.twitter.com/7P6x7AW9A9

Garland repeatedly attempted to avoid the question but eventually admitted no one has been prosecuted.
Cruz also brought up Mark Houck, a pro-life advocate whose home was raided and faced 11 years in prison for peacefully protesting abortion. Ultimately a federal court dismissed Garland’s case against him.
