Actor Jonathan Roumie from the enormously popular Christian series “The Chosen” spoke Friday about the spiritual battle being waged in America today over the right to life.

Speaking at the March for Life in Washington, D.C., Roumie encouraged pro-life advocates to persevere in the fight for life because Satan is “doubling down” in the wake of Roe v. Wade being overturned, The Christian Post reports.

“Just as God is real, Satan is also real,” said Roumie, who plays Jesus Christ in the Angel Studios series.

“I’m not talking about the simplistic cartoon of some dude with horns and a tail,” he added. “I’m talking about the father of lies, the great deceiver, the diabolical slanderer who pushes you to doubt when you know in your heart the right thing to do.”

Roumie said Satan is not giving up the fight to keep the destruction of innocent babies legal in the U.S.

“In fact, he’s doubling down because, guess what? His time is limited. So, he’s throwing everything he has at the world and all of us in it. And countless are being deceived as a result,” he continued.

One of Satan’s big lies is that “abortion does not harm us individually and as a society,” Roumie said. “So, please, I beg of you, pray for those who do not have the faith, the strength, the clarity of purpose that you here do.”

The Dobbs v. Jackson ruling last June brought a “glimmer of hope” to pro-life Americans, a first “step in protecting life,” he said.

The actor also expressed hope that God will “see the hearts of those of us here in support of life today and say to us in this hour, ‘It is good.’”

Yet, the fight is far from over, Roumie added, challenging young adults to stand strong in their resolve to protect and value the unborn. He brought up the increasingly dark and evil messaging in the entertainment media directed at young people, and urged them to reject it and seek goodness and truth. To all pro-life advocates, Roumie encouraged them not to give up hope.

“Remember, my dear friends, we know how the story ends: God won,” he said.

This January marked the 50th year since the U.S. Supreme Court ruled on Roe and forced states to legalize the killing of unborn babies in abortions. Research by NRLC estimates the number of unborn babies lost to abortion under Roe was 64.4 million.

In June, the high court reversed its infamous ruling and began allowing states to protect unborn babies’ lives again. Now, 14 states protect unborn babies from abortion and more are expected to do so this year. Pro-life advocates estimate tens of thousands of babies already have been saved from abortion since June.
