Washington Gov. Jay Inslee signed four pro-abortion bills into law Thursday, including one to protect abortionists who kill unborn babies and another to allow the state to sell dangerous abortion pills.
Big Country News reports Inslee, a pro-abortion Democrat, held a signing ceremony with pro-abortion activists and lawmakers Thursday morning on the University of Washington campus in Seattle.
“The right of choice is an issue of freedom,” the governor said. “Health care must remain the providence of individual Washingtonians. These laws will keep the tentacles of oppressive and overreaching states out of Washington.”
But killing unborn babies in abortions is not a right, nor is it health care – facts that the U.S. Supreme Court and tens of thousands of doctors confirm.
However, many Democrat governors portray killing unborn babies this way because they receive huge campaign donations from the billion-dollar abortion industry. The bills that Inslee signed this week protect the abortion industry from legal prosecution and send more money its way by forcing private insurance companies to cover elective abortions without co-pay.
Two of the new laws, House Bill 1469 and House Bill 1340, protect abortionists from legal investigations, prosecution and license revocation if they abort unborn babies in violation of other states’ pro-life laws.

Under the new laws, Washington state authorities are banned from complying with subpoenas and investigations by pro-life states of abortionists who break their laws. State authorities also no longer will be allowed to extradite abortionists to pro-life states where they are accused of aborting unborn babies in violation of their laws.
And if a pro-life state disciplines an abortionist or revokes their medical license, Washington state will protect that abortionist “as long as the service was lawfully provided here,” according to the governor’s office.
Inslee also signed two bills that will directly expand abortions. One, Senate Bill 5242, requires private insurance companies to cover elective abortions without cost starting Jan. 1, 2024.
Another new law, Senate Bill 5768, authorizes the state Department of Corrections to distribute a stockpile of 30,000 abortion drugs that Inslee purchased earlier this year. The department will sell the drugs at-cost plus a $5 fee, or about $50 per dose, according to the legislation.
Inslee said he bought the three-year supply to have available in case federal courts side with doctors challenging the FDA’s approval of mifepristone as an abortion drug.
In other words, Democrat lawmakers hope the abortion pills will be used to kill 10,000 unborn babies in their state every year.
Washington state law allows unborn babies to be aborted for basically any reason up to birth and forces state taxpayers to pay for elective abortions. In 2020, 16,050 unborn babies were aborted, according to the state health department.
