A woman who survived an aboriton is upset with Democrats who voted against the Born Alive bill this week that would require medical care for babies who survive aborion.
Sarah Zagorski understand the issue more than most anyone. She survived an abortion in 1990 and was bonrn alive at 26 weeks. The aboritonist told her mother to just let Sarah die, but thankfully her mother experienced an immediate sense of urgency to protect her daughter and demanded that medical care be provided.
“Thankfully, she resisted his coercive efforts and said, ‘I’m going to sue you if you don’t give my daughter medical care…” Zagorski said of her mother.
And her compelling story is why Zagorski is so livid with Democrats who want to deny medicla care to babies like her. As she told Fox News:
That threat “scared him enough to give her the care she needed,” according to Zagorski.
“I’m very thankful to my birth mother, but my message today is, women should never be in a situation where they have to fight coercive abortion physicians in the abortion industry,” Zagorski said. “And this bill will protect women, and it will also protect babies like myself.”
“The bottom line is this is infanticide,” she continued. “We’re talking about a baby that has been delivered already. There’s no excuse for anyone voting ‘no’ on this legislation. This isn’t about ‘abortion rights.’ This is about a baby that is outside of the womb. This is something we should all have common ground upon.”

The Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act requires that, when a baby is born alive following an abortion, health care practitioners must exercise the same degree of professional skill and care that would be offered to any other child born alive at the same gestational age. It also requires that, following appropriate care, health care workers must transport the living child immediately to a hospital.
Current federal law does not sufficiently protect a child born following an abortion.
In addition, the bill applies the existing penalties of 18 U.S.C. Sec. 1111 (the federal murder statute) to anyone who performs “an overt act that kills a child born alive.” Further, the bill provides a civil cause of action to women who are harmed by violations of the act.
Republicans approved the common sense bill on a 220-210 vote with all Republicans voting for the pro-life bill and all Democrats but two voting for infanticide. Three GOP members were absent, Democrat Rep. Vicente González voted present and pro-life Democrat Rep. Henry Cuellar of Texas voted for the bill.
